About Ammee and Co.
Ammee & Co. has been donating blankets for babies since it was founded in 2008. Cony Larsen, Founder of Ammee & Co., began her “love 1, give 1” project after viewing a documentary about Honduran newborns being sent home from the hospital wrapped in newspaper because they had no blankets after severe flooding had devastated the country.
She also learned that similar conditions existed in Guatemala, Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador and other countries. She decided that Ammee & Co. would be committed to making the world a better and softer place for under-privileged children.
Ammee's blankets are donated to our local Primary Children's Hospital NICU in Salt Lake City, UT, local fire/police departments, and to less privileged children at el Hermano Pedro Orphanage in Antigua, Guatemala.
Every Transaction makes a difference
Our commitment goes beyond providing our customers with the best in Hemstitched baby products and customer service. We are committed to making a difference in the way a newborn begins life in our world and in the communities we serve. Our wish is for every newborn to have a soft, warm, and cuddly blanket they can be bundled in when they arrive to this world.
We encourage our customers to make a blanket for a loved one and a blanket to donate. We also offer special discounts to customers that donate their blankets to Project Linus. You can also purchase an Ammee's Blanket to donate to a needy child and be an essential part of our “love 1, give 1” movement!
How can you help?
1. You can look up your local Linus chapter in your area, contact them and find out what their guidelines are for receiving donated blankets. We have many customers that buy our hemstitched blankets, crochet around the edge, and then donate to the Linus Project, please note that they accept only hand-made donations and our blankets qualify for that, they don't accept blankets bought at stores. You can read more about their policy at our site at this link http://www.ammeeandco.com/loveone/.
We give a 30% discount to customers that donate our blankets to the Linus project. You do have to submit our Linus Application, have your Federal Tax ID, and you will need to purchase $150 total of blankets after discount.
2. You can also donate hemstitched blankets to your local Children's Hospital, the NICU is always in need and our blankets are always welcomed there.
3. You can donate our blankets at your local Fire/Police departments, when they have emergency calls where children have been harmed, or family disputes, they can use a toy or a blanket to give to the children.
4. You can donate to our Ammee's “love 1, give 1” fund by purchasing a "Donate a Blanket" item for $10, you pay for the cost of making a blanket, we in turn donate our blankets to Hermano Pedro orphanage in Antigua Guatemala, their NICU is in great need of anything that can be donated.
